Hello survivors. It is time again for a new Dev Blog and this time we have a couple of things to cover. Over the last two updates, we started to roll out some changes to the game that are in part tied to what's included in the Dev Blog. Namely, the introduction of special weapons that cannot be kiosked, which are directly tied to the changes I am going to list below. So, without further ado, let's jump right into it.

End of Easter Event

The next update, the Easter event will be over and eggs are going to stop spawning. To give a chance to everyone to use their eggs, we will leave the crafting recipe up for a while, so that players that haven't been able to use their eggs can do so. The epic weapons that were rewarded from crafting with the eggs are going to be added to the spawn pool and players will be able to find them in the world. They will remain un-kioskable as previously mentioned.

Kiosk System

Kiosk

This one is sort of a big change. The kiosk system, as some of you might know, was our answer to the constant suggestion of players wanting more storage. While it's impossible on a technical standpoint to offer an infinite storage solution in the game while keeping the no server wipe policy, we had to come up with a cleverer way of doing things which has its pro and cons. The pro of the kiosk system is that, it's relatively cost free as far as performance go, it offers an infinite storage solution to players and is un-raidable. The cons of the system, it's un-raidable. And since raiding is a big part of the game, we had to balance the system in a way that wouldn't allow players to kiosk 100% of everything they own. That's why we introduced the AMCoins currency and made the kiosk a towable item.

Over the past few weeks, we've seen a lot of new players still suggesting to add more storage. Obviously, my answer to that was that they should use the kiosk since it's why it was added, just to be told that kiosk wasn't an option or wasn't a good solution. One of the reasons stated by those players was that the kiosk wasn't available enough. It is currently locked behind a high requirement of luck and owning a vehicle long enough to tow it back to your base and as you guys might know, vehicles are more often all stored deep down behind 5 layers of wall of some players bases.

So, we've decided to lower the requirement of the kiosk... sort of. Kiosk are not going to spawn as metal parts anymore. The kiosk will now become a craftable item. In order to learn the recipe, players will have to find the storage 2 guide. Once they found the guide and learned it, they will be awarded with the recipe.

To craft the kiosk, players will need 64 sheet metal, 5 electrical parts and 3 amalgaduino. Additionally, the kiosk won't work unless players hook it up to a generator which are commonly found around the world and can be placed in bases. Players are still going to have to find coins to store items in it, but we've already adjusted the coin spawn a bit so mutants can hold a bit more coins so hopefully, those will be a bit more common now.

Epic Weapons Tier

Since we are going to make the kiosk more available, we had to rebalance the loot a bit in order to ensure that bases retain some items inside them. That's why we introduced a new epic weapon tier. These weapons as you already know since you've been using some of them for a week now, all have much higher stats. More damage, better handling, less recoil, faster ADS but cannot be stored in the kiosk system. This was made to ensure that raiding will always hold a reward. Along with explosives which also cannot be kiosked, and raw resources such as sheet metal, gun powder, sulphur, we feel that it will be balanced enough to counter the fact that most bases now will have a kiosk ready to be used. Additionally, this next update we are introducing two new epic weapons.

M4V5

The M4V5 is a 5.56 semi auto rifle that supports all attachment. It has higher damage, lower recoil, faster ADS and an extra benefit that I’m going to list a little later in the Dev Blog.

RPK

The Comrade (RPK) is sort of like the bastard child of the AKM. It is an automatic 7.62 assault rifle which has higher damage, lower recoil, faster ADS and support the newly introduced PSO-1 scope as well as the extra benefit mentioned for the M4V5 which I’m going to introduce down below.

Weapons Durability

There are guns everywhere! is a line commonly thrown around on Miscreated discord. While I can't deny the fact that weapons are common in miscreated especially since the last time I played, I found myself an AK5D within the first 5 minutes, that new change we've introduced might benefit from it.

While weapons durability is nothing new in Miscreated, it was only applying on melee weapon in general, or melee damage, so to speak. In the next update, all firearms will now have durability and take damage for each round fired. It is balanced in a way that weapons won't feel too fragile, but it also won't allow you to fire up 1000 rounds without having to repair or maintain your weapons. Automatic weapons will be able to fire up more rounds before needing repair than semi auto weapons.

Same goes for semi auto weapons vs bolt action rifles. Additionally, epic weapon will take much much MUCH less damage than normal weapons. Once a weapon reach 0 durability, you won't be able to use it until you repair it. We will be gathering feedback post update and adjust the system based on those.

Scope Rework

As some of you already know since we've released a few screenshot and video on discord the past week, all of the scopes and sights have been reworked to look much better and feel much better. Most sights and scope all had a common issue in Miscreated related to floating point imprecision which caused attachments on weapon to be jittery the further you were from the map origin point. This might be a bit technical, so let's just say that, sights were unprecise most of the time. With the new rework, all of the reticule will stay stable regardless of where you are on the map. All of the scopes and sight reticules have been redone to be sharper and clearer.

Attachment System

Another system which had a lot of change done to it the past few updates. Next update, we will have fixed some of the remaining issue with the attachment system such as attachment not sitting properly on the weapons, or being offset a bit. We are also introducing two new epic sights. The OKP-7 and the R3 sight.

OKP
OKP2
R3Sight
R3Sight2

Both new sights can be attached on all weapons having a top rail. These sights are part of the newly introduced epic tier of loot and cannot be kiosked.

As part of the attachment system, we started to work on adding more extended magazines based on players request. We will first focus on magazines that are shared across multiple weapons since it will allow us to cover more of the weapons quicker.
